Learn about our network of sustainability partners and the resources it has created in support of sustainability on campus.

Our partners

The Office of Sustainability works with many campus and community partners to achieve its objectives. By ourselves we are one, together we are a community. The Office of Sustainability would not be able to achieve many of its goals without the generous support of its community and governmental partners.

Current project funders and partners include:

  • for transportation demand management projects
  • for supports the SMART Trip program with initiatives such as the Guaranteed Ride Home program pilot and Employee Transit Pass Program (EPass)
  • , supports waste management, research, and education

AASHE membership 

Â鶹´«Ã½ is a member of AASHE (Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education), an association of colleges and universities that are working to create a sustainable future.

STARS participation

A circular gold seal reads "sustainability tracking, assessment & rating system - gold" with a logo saying "stars a program of aashe" in the center.

Â鶹´«Ã½ is a registered participant in  (Sustainability, Tracking, Assessment & Rating System). STARS is administered by  (Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education). 

Ìý´¡´¡³§±á·¡â€™s provides a transparent, comprehensive framework for colleges and universities to assess and publicly report their sustainability performance. Â鶹´«Ã½ has been a Charter participant since 2011, when it submitted its first STARS report and earned a Silver rating. The university has since made significant progress, achieving Gold ratings in its Version 2.0 (January 2015), Version 2.1 (April 2018), and Version 2.2 (September 2021) submissions. Most recently, Â鶹´«Ã½ recertified in March 2025, maintaining its Gold rating through March 17, 2028.

Advisory council on sustainability

The President’s Advisory Council on Sustainability (PACS) and related subcommittees provides an ongoing forum for sustainability discussions at the university. The Council includes membership from faculties, departments, student organizations, and community members. 

The Agricultural Campus has a Sustainability Committee that reports to PACS. There are sub-committees of PACS that focus on a topic during a certain period of time.
