The Canadian Insolvency Foundation has, since 2006, made available an annual award to fund significant research into insolvency-related topics. The award, the Lloyd Houlden Memorial Research Fellowship, is named after the late Justice of the Court of Appeal of Ontario, who had a long distinguished career both as a practicing jurist and as an author specializing in insolvency.

The award is made possible by the generosity of the Patrons Circle, a group of trustee and law firms, and provincial insolvency and restructuring associations.Ìý
The Fellowship is for a maximum of $20,000. In some years, the Foundation has divided the Fellowship between two worthy proposals.
Applicants must submit their research proposals no later than January 16th, 2015 8:00 pm EST.Ìý The Foundation will make its decision on the winning research proposal(s) by April 15th, 2015.Ìý The final version of the paper must be submitted by October 31st, 2015. Ìý
Research proposals are invited from anyone, both researchers and practitioners, working in the field of insolvency and restructuring. All research proposals will be reviewed and evaluated.
