Following the regarding the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada鈥檚 (NSERC) participation in the implementation of the National Quantum Strategy (NQS), we are pleased to announce that NSERC鈥檚 聽aiming to advance the NQS is now available.

The NQS will amplify Canada鈥檚 significant strength in quantum research and science; grow national quantum-ready technologies, manufacturing and talent; and solidify Canada鈥檚 global leadership in this fast-growing field.

NSERC plays an important role in the NQS by supporting the advancement of Canada鈥檚 research, innovation and talent development in quantum science and technology. In addition to the and announced on March 15, 2022, the following Alliance funding opportunities are now open and accepting applications through initial calls for proposals:

• 聽will reinforce, coordinate and scale up Canada鈥檚 domestic research capabilities in quantum science and technology through partnerships with organizations in the private, public or not-for-profit sectors.
• will develop large-scale domestic research collaborations and enable improved synergy across Canada鈥檚 regional quantum research and innovation hubs, federal laboratories and other centres and stakeholders. These grants will enable a strengthened national quantum research and innovation community that is connected to industry applications and government needs.聽
