The Senate is the university's senior academic governing body.Ìý
It is responsible for:
- the approval of new programs
- approving the granting of degrees and diplomas
- managing the reviews of Faculties, Centres and Institutes
The Senate is also responsible for setting academic regulations (including regulations governing student conduct and discipline), which affect the University as a whole and it establishes the academic calendar.
As a Faculty of Agriculture within Â鶹´«Ã½, we are represented on the University’s Senate Committee.Ìý

Jeff Hoyle was recently elected as Interim Senate Vice-Chair (Academic Programs) for the term February 12, 2013 to June 30, 2013.Ìý Ìý
Tarjei Tennessen was appointed to the Senate Learning and Teaching Committee for the term February 12, 2013 to June 30, 2013.Ìý
Nancy Pitts was appointed to the Honorary Degrees committee until June 2016.Ìý Chris Hartt was appointed to Senate Nominations committee for the same term.
Paul manning is the student rep on Senate and Dr. Cook is also a Senator.
Senate elections within the Faculty for a Senator to serve 1 July 2013 till 30 June 2016 will be held over the next two weeks.
