RAMS Weekend Recap – Nov. 23-24

Badminton – Nov. 23 – Allison University

The Dal AC Badminton Team attended their second tournament of the season hosted by Mount Allison in Sackville, New Brunswick. The team once again had a 4th place finish but gained some ground on the 3rd place Dragons and had some standout matches by Adrian Bent who earned the RAMS 10 points in the Men’s B Singles draw.

MSA - Daylon Tan - 3rd place - 5 points
LSA - Cindy Yu - 4th place - 3 points
MDA - Kyle Bauld/Daylon Tan - 3rd place - 5 points
LDA - Sarah Pepperdine/Cindy Yu - 3rd - 5 points
XDA - Kyle Bauld/Sarah Pepperdeine - 3rd place - 5 points

MSB - Adrian Bent - 1st place - 10 points
LSB - Danni Li - 4th place - 3 points
MDB - Adrian Bent/Garrett Cotton - 3rd place - 5 points
LDB - Rachel Sheffield/Shelby Fillmore - 4th place - 3 points
XDB - Garrett Cotton/Emily Lim - 4th place - 3 points

The team is now finished for the fall season and will look to move up in the standings at the next tournament in Halifax hosted by the UKC Blue Devils on January 18.

Women’s Volleyball - November 24 – STU vs. DAL AC

Lead by veteran captain Megan Mills the Tommies battled through a resilient Dal AC Rams team to take the three sets to one victory on Sunday afternoon. The Rams fought back to win the third set but ended up falling 27-25, 25-20, 21-25 and 25-12.

Next up for Dal AC is a trip to MSVU on November 30th to take on the Mystics. 

DAL AC Athletes of the Week

Adrian Bent (Badminton)
Adrian put his athletic abilities on display at Mount A capturing first place in the Men’s B Singles draw. The multi-sport athlete (soccer) battled hard to secure 10 point for the RAMS who unfortunately just missed out on a 3rd place team finish by 4 points.

Jillian Ferguson (Women’s Volleyball)

Jillian Ferguson had a strong game for the RAMS battling through a hard fall to keep Dal AC in the match through 3 sets. She finished the day with 9 kills and 6 digs while showing a level of grit and determination needed for a team battling for placement in the ACAA’s biggest league.
