Women’s Volleyball - DAL AC vs MSVU
In what could be deemed the match of the season thus far, Dal AC and MSVU had a memorable showdown which took 5 sets to decide. The RAMS took a 2 sets – 0 lead before MSVU pushed back and won a decisive third. It appeared destined that Dal AC was going to win the match in the 4th set until MSVU pulled off an impressive comeback after being down 16-8 to win 25-23. MSVU followed that game up with a 15-11 5th set victory. Marit Zwinselman lead the RAMS offensively with 12 kills and 5 Service Aces.
The RAMS now have a break until the weekend of Jan. 11-12 when they hit the road to take on UNBSJ and STU.Â
DAL AC Athletes of the Week
Mariah Putnam (Women’s Volleyball)
Mariah made her presence felt offensively and defensively totalling 18 assists, 8 digs, 5 kills, and 3 service aces vs. MSVU. Her all around game compliments her impressive setting skills which put the RAMS in a position to succeed every time she is on the floor. Â
Maggie MacLeod (Women’s Volleyball)
Even though Maggie’s contributions didn’t all show up on the stats sheet she did a fantastic job of making her presence felt throughout the majority of the match. The 4th year athlete had a some very timely blocks and helped keep a high powered MSVU offense at bay for long stretches of the match. Â
