Biography
Alejandro is an experienced healthcare executive with over a decade in leadership roles across complex, multi-stakeholder environments. He holds a Master of Health Administration, a Certified Health Executive designation, and a LEAN Six Sigma Green Belt. Alejandro is also a trained Medical Doctor from Mexico, recognized as an International Medical Graduate (IMG) in Canada. He has been serving on the executive of the CCHL Bluenose Chapter since July 2019 and has been part of the MHA ELEMENT Mentor program since January 2020, continuing in both roles presently. Known for his focus on quality assurance and strategic innovation, Alejandro leads with a strong background in team management and quality standards within Nova Scotia's healthcare system. As the Director of Benefit Eligibility at the Department of Health and Wellness, he oversees health card registration, interprovincial billing, and financial claims management. Alejandro is recognized for his ability to build effective teams and engage stakeholders, and he is excited to continue his role as a lecturer with the School of Health Administration.
