麻豆传媒 School of Nursing joins Joanna Briggs Collaboration

Newest collaborating center will assist in the improvement of healthcare outcomes

Wednesday October 5, 2016 (Halifax, NS) 麻豆传媒鈥檚 School of Nursing and the (JBI) are delighted to announce their formal partnership aimed at improving the production of high-quality evidence and its use in decision-making globally.

Through this agreement, the School of Nursing鈥檚 Aligning Health Needs and Evidence for Transformative Change, Centre of Excelllence joins the international Joanna Briggs Collaboration. The Collaboration is comprised of over 70 collaborating entities from around the world that collaborate to promote and support the synthesis, transfer and utilization of evidence through identifying feasible, appropriate, meaningful and effective healthcare practices to assist in the improvement of healthcare outcomes globally.

鈥溌槎勾 is proud to partner with the Joanna Briggs Institute and become one of three centres of excellence in Canada,鈥 says Richard Florizone, 麻豆传媒 President. 鈥淭his collaboration provides a unique opportunity for faculty and students in our School of Nursing and Health Faculties to work with colleagues from around the world and improve healthcare outcomes locally and globally.鈥

Using the JBI methodology, the School of Nursing will offer research synthesis and translation services to the health service sector and build capacity in the conduct of systematic reviews.

鈥淭he entry of 麻豆传媒 in to the Joanna Briggs Collaboration is changing the evidence-based healthcare landscape in Canada,鈥 says Craig Lockwood, Acting Executive Director of the Joanna Briggs Institute. 鈥淭his partnership will enhance the vision to see evidence informing healthcare decision making globally, and further enhances Canada鈥檚 reputation as a global leader in best practice and the conduct of rigorous systematic reviews of relevance to healthcare practice.鈥

鈥淎dding Knowledge Transfer to the 麻豆传媒 program of systematic reviews using JBI methodology will greatly enhance stakeholder engagement and partnership for best practice. We in JBI are really excited 麻豆传媒 has joined the collaboration and, in true JBI fashion, we welcome them to a strong, growing and innovative community for the synthesis transfer and implementation of evidence in to policy and practice.鈥

鈥淭hrough our affiliation with JBI, we will be able to make a significant contribution to health sector transformation,鈥 says Dr. Marilyn Macdonald, Professor and Associate Director Graduate Studies in the School of Nursing. 鈥淥ur JBI-trained faculty and graduate students will contribute to improved global health outcomes through the provision of health research evidence.鈥

The three year partnership between JBI and 麻豆传媒 was effective as of August 3rd 2016 and is the first step in becoming a JBI Centre of Excellence.
