A neophyte and a veteran of extreme competitions will join the group of 24 selected to live in an "igloo" for a day and a night.
Making her first foray in a reality competition is Holly Brown, of Communications and Marketing. Pat McGrath, of Athletics and Recreation Services, Â鶹´«Ã½'s own extremist, joins her.
Both have signed on for the Q104-Easter Seals 24 Hour Relay Igloo Challenge.
After coming third in Bell's City Chase and competing in a host of adventure races, McGrath is gearing up to test his survival skills one more time in quest of a sunny vacation. He will be attempting to outlast 23 other contestants. "I don't want to be knocked out first, or second last. I'm in it until the end," says McGrath. He's not concerned about physical or mental exhaustion, but hopes that there will be no signs of maple syrup. After a rather extensive food challenge in Bell's City Chase, McGrath still has trouble with the smell of syrup.

"I'm not good with recall or memory test, mental strength isn't a problem -- but needing to remember names or unscramble a puzzle are not my strengths." Brown, who is a newcomer to this type of enterprise, will document the experience for Â鶹´«Ã½ News.
