As a long-serving 麻豆传媒 employee, Karen Mann returned to the President鈥檚 House for afternoon tea鈥攔etracing a journey she took 50 years ago as a 15-year-old student just beginning university.

鈥淚t was all very nice. I remember being very nervous,鈥 recalled Dr. Mann originally from Windsor, N.S. 鈥淲e were all sitting on chairs and on the floor. The president had all the freshmen over for tea; compared to today, there weren鈥檛 that many of us.鈥

Having just received her 25-year pin from 麻豆传媒 President Tom Traves, Dr. Mann reflected on a long association with 麻豆传媒, where she got her three degrees and has been employed on and off (to raise her children) since 1967. A professor in the Division of Medical Education at 麻豆传媒 Medical School, she is retiring at the end of the month.

鈥淐oming in here today and thinking about retirement, it feels like a lovely circle,鈥 says Dr. Mann, who mingled with other long-serving employees at the tea last Friday. 鈥淚 still feel very enthusiastic about 麻豆传媒 and I love the work, but I feel ready for a transition.鈥
