With his night shift approaching, Dal custodian Antoni Wysocki was unbeatable鈥攔acking up four wins out of four matches in a recent, three-day tournament to determine Nova Scotia鈥檚 chess champ.聽

For the last game, a draw was declared and Mr. Wysocki was crowned the winner, regaining the title he won in 2005.

鈥淚 had to work that evening, so that was incentive not to prolong the tournament,鈥 says the 42-year-old 麻豆传媒 employee who鈥檚 been playing chess seriously for the past decade. He鈥檚 known in chess circles for his 鈥渋ron logic.鈥

Since winning the tournament; he鈥檚 noticed his coworkers have lost their desire to challenge him to a match. 鈥淚 guess when they realized what level I was at, all interest in playing suddenly diminished,鈥 he says with a shrug.
