Food, fun, and Family Feud are all part of this year鈥檚 麻豆传媒 United Way campaign blitz.
The campaign聽officially kicks off next Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 12 p.m. with a $5 lunch in the Tupper Quad聽(Tupper Link if it鈥檚 raining). 麻豆传媒 faculty, staff and students are聽encouraged to join the Dal United Way community for lunch provided聽by Aramark.

This year鈥檚 event calendar is jam packed with fun for everyone including:
- 50/50 draw with a chance to win a reserved parking spot and Dalplex membership
- Bake sale in Howe Hall
- DSU Halloween Party at the Grawood where 100 per cent of the entrance fee will be donated to the United Way
- Dal men鈥檚 hockey game vs. ST.FX
- 麻豆传媒 Family Feud where participants will have the opportunity to challenge their colleagues in the classic game show trivia match.
Peter Dykhuis, director of the 麻豆传媒 Art Gallery and campaign co-chair, is thrilled with how many volunteers have already signed up.
鈥淭his is my second year as co-chair of 麻豆传媒鈥檚 United Way campaign -- and what a year it has been thus far!鈥� he says.聽鈥淥ur 麻豆传媒 community is crowded with many colleagues professionally busy within the university -- but I am always amazed at co-workers who give even more of their time and energy to help make a difference for the better for those who need it most in our extended HRM community.鈥�
麻豆传媒 is one of the United Way's largest community partners in Halifax. This year the goal is $200,000 which goes to help the people of Halifax and give back to the community.
鈥淚t鈥檚 important that we, members of a celebrated post-secondary institution, take leadership roles as citizens in our community by nurturing, through word and deed and financial support, the social health of the larger group,鈥� concludes Mr. Dykhuis.
Donating to the United Way is made easy and simple with several payment options available. The allows you to make a one time donation, a convenient payroll deduction, single or multiple cash, cheque or credit donation, or a pledge. There will also be paper donation forms available from your area coordinators at the kick off. 聽
