Heavy rain blanketed Wickwire field early Saturday afternoon, but it didn’t impede the women’s performance as they looked to move up in the AUS rankings. Ashley Salvador buried the ball in the back of the net during the first half, only to have the Axewomen tie it up a minute later off a corner kick. The back and forth action continued throughout the match until Doriana Homerski scored in the 80th minute to give the Tigers a 2-1 victory.

The men played a tough match on Saturday against AUS first place Acadia. During a lively first half the Axemen scored two back-to-back goals after an injury in Dal’s defensive line. A penalty kick scored by Nathan Rogers put the team on the board, but it was quickly offset by another Acadia goal before the end of the half. During the second half the black and gold defence managed to find their footing on the slick pitch and kept the opposition at bay. Through perseverance and hard work the Tigers created a number of opportunities, however they were only able to find the back of the net, resulting in a 3-2 loss.
