Canadian Right Whale protection efforts - American environmental groups call for US ban on Canadian snow crabÌýimports
Nine American marine protection groups are calling on a ban of lobster imports and more specifically Canadian Snow Crab imports because they believe that Canada has not done enough to protect Right Whales from fishing gear entanglements. Dr. Christopher Taggart is available to provide comment on what Canada has done to prevent Right Whale deaths, if this call is warranted and if it would have any impact on the protection of Right Whales.

Town by-Laws requiring individuals to surrender dogs
A case in Clark’s Harbour, Nova Scotia is drawing attention to the issue of municipal by-laws banning specific dog breeds. Jodi Lazare, DCL, is available to provide perspective on what rights owners have in these situations and what is involved in creating and enforcing a by-law.
