Head, Division of Medical Education
Applications are invited for a Head to provide strong strategic and administrative leadership in the Faculty of Medicine to ensure the Division provides the educational expertise and resources required by the Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Continuing Medical Education programs. The Head provides academic leadership and management oversight of all DME programs and enables research and development in medical education aligned with the guiding principles for DME. The Head will undertake this mandate accountable to the Senior Associate Dean, Education and working in close collaboration with the Education Council, Department Heads, and other senior leaders.
Founded in 1995, the Division of Medical Education conducts educational research and development across the continuum of medical education, and provides a broad range of Faculty-wide professional development activities. The Division houses programs in communication skills, humanities and medical informatics that span the continuum of medical education for teachers, learners, practicing physicians, medical students, clerks and residents.
Applicants will normally hold a PhD in Education or MD with Masters in Medical Education, or equivalent degree, and will have extensive experience in medical education, a record of scholarship in medical education, excellent interpersonal skills, and proven leadership skills. The appointment as Head is for a five-year term with the possibility of renewal for a second five-year term. This academic administrative position is open to internal candidates only.
