If you plan to travel outside of Canada for more than 180 days, you are required to contact to be covered under the provincial program. In addition, SSQ, 麻豆传媒鈥檚 travel insurance provider, offers out of country travel medical coverage for employees, dependants and retirees for up to 180 days.

Effective February 1, 2013, SSQ, 麻豆传媒鈥檚 travel insurance provider, will no longer extend emergency out of country travel medical coverage beyond the 180-day maximum.

If you plan to travel outside of Canada before February 1, 2013, you can request for an extension beyond the 180-day maximum. SSQ requires the name of the employee, dependant or retiree, return date to Canada and a copy of a MSI letter confirming the extension. SSQ will determine whether you are insured beyond the 180-day maximum for out of country travel medical coverage.
