The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at Â鶹´«Ã½ invites applications for a 10-month 60% Limited-Term Instructor position commencing August 1, 2013. Assigned responsibilities include teaching three sections of a third-year Neuroscience lab class and a third-year lecture class in Molecular Neuroscience.
The Instructor will be responsible for all lectures, for supervising lab sessions, for test preparation, and for exam administration (including supplemental examinations) and be available for two hours per week for student consultation.
Student project supervision and participation in departmental administration will be also expected.
The laboratory class will require experience in some or all of the following methods: confocal microscopy, immunocytochemistry, high-performance liquid chromatography, and electron microscopy of neurons, neurotransmitter systems and synapses. The class will mostly use preparations from vertebrate retinas and insect brains.
Applicants should have a PhD in Neuro- or Biological Sciences, demonstrated teaching effectiveness, and previous experience teaching this material.
