Kudos to Shannon Kilyanek, who just finished up three weeks of teaching and counseling of students in the 2+2 program at FAFU with Dr. Caldwell. Claude and Shannon have been spending time at FAFU every year since the program began and they have had a tremendous impact on the program鈥檚 success and on FAFU generally. Faculty members from other programs at FAFU often drop by to observe Shannon and Claude when they teach and the contributions they have made to curriculum development at the institution. In recognition, Shannon was awarded a Friendship Award for her great service to FAFU over the past ten years.
Congratulations to Heather Crozier who won the Poster Award at the Science Atlantic Student Conference held at Acadia University. 鈥淭here were several excellent poster presentations from several universities across Atlantic Canada,鈥 said Environmental Sciences Department Head Dr. Raj Lada. 鈥淵our award is a reflection of the quality of your research and your ability to communicate your research to your peers and to the judges,鈥 he added. Heather is a fourth-year Environmental Sciences student supervised by Chris Cutler.
