The assistant registrar academic services is the primary resource for academic student services at King鈥檚, ensuring a warm and service-oriented environment. The assistant registrar oversees student success programming, using research and statistical analysis to report on current student enrolment trends, and recommends, implements, and evaluates advising, student success and retention programming.
This position supports students through their experiences from recruitment to graduation, including academic advising, petition and appeals support, and administration of registrarial functions (i.e. calendars and publications, academic eligibility, course enrollment data and reporting, matriculation, AIO processes, convocation etc.). This position is responsible for supporting effective transition programs for new students, contributing to student engagement in the campus community in advance of arrival.
Education: Undergraduate degree required, masters preferred.
Experience: Three to five years鈥 experience in the administration of academic programs or services; exposure and knowledge of academic and governance structures within a university environment. Experience in a registrar鈥檚 office, academic advising, student success program planning, implementation and evaluation an asset. Leadership and staff management experience.
Skills: Demonstrated skills in providing outstanding student services and promoting student success. Personnel management; excellent analytical and planning ability, including setting priorities; strong communication skills, including discretion, judgement and integrity; excellent interpersonal skills including empathy and tact; excellent writing, editing and organization skills; demonstrated skills in report writing, including analysis, interpretation, reporting and evaluation of statistical data; proven ability to exercise initiative; proficiency with various computer programs, including Microsoft Office (intermediate level in Word, processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint and databases); familiarity with Banner and Brio reporting software an asset. Incumbent must be reliable and possess strong attention to detail and accuracy.
