RATE OF PAY: In accordance with CUPE Collective Agreement
WORK ASSIGNMENT:Â The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching NURS 5486.03F, Principles and Theories for Health and Disease Management in Adult Nurse Practitioner Practice during the Fall Term, 2013. Responsibilities include delivery of course content, holding office hours, and the evaluation of the students.
The course will expand on the nurse practitioner student’s knowledge, skills, and competency in health promotion, health maintenance, health assessment and management of disease in adults. The focus is the adult population (18+) who seeks healthcare services in multiple clinical settings. A strong emphasis will be placed on health issues and common illnesses of adults with higher acuity levels and comorbidities, recognizing the acute and chronic nature of disease and targeting optimal health outcomes.
Classes are scheduled on Tuesday, 13:35 – 16:25 hours, from September 5 – December 3, 2013. The Part-time Academic reports directly to Dr. Marilyn Macdonald, Associate Director, Graduate Studies.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Candidates must hold a graduate degree in nursing, or related field, with relevant expertise and teaching experience. PhD preferred.
