PAY RATE: As per Collective Agreement
WORK ASSIGNMENTS- The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching:
1) SLWK 3012.03 "Social Welfare Policy" by Distance Education. The class will be offered from May 5th to August 1st 2014.
2) SLWK 3083.03 "Introduction to Research" by Distance Education. The class will be offered from May 5th to August 1st 2014.
3) SLWK 4033.09 "BSW Field Placement (Block)" by Distance Education. The class will be offered from April 7th to August 22nd 2014.
4) SLWK 3140.03 "Crisis Counselling (Interventions)" by Distance Education. The class will be offered from July 2nd to August 16th 2014.
5) SLWK 3270.03 "Social Work in Addictions" by Distance Education. The class will be offered from July 2nd to August 16th 2014.
6) SLWK 6500.03 "Interventions with Families" by Distance Education. The class will be offered from May 5th to June 20th 2014.
7) SLWK 6385.03 "Communities & Social Change" by Distance Education. The class will be offered from May 5th to June 20th 2014.
Distance courses are taught in an online learning management system known as Blackboard for distance delivery throughout Canada. Distance courses require on-line availability for consultation with students. Responsibilities include all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including lectures, test preparation, and evaluation of tests and reports. The part-time academic should expect to be engaged in employment for two months preceding course delivery for course preparations. REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Educational background in social work with extensive experience in social work (or related fields) is required. The successful incumbent is required to have solid knowledge of a variety of social work skills and the ability to impart these skills to students. A Master of Social Work degree, or higher, and previous teaching experience is preferred.
