WORK ASSIGNMENT #1: The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching: SLWK 2010.03 “Introduction to Community Social Work” by Distance Education. The class will be offered in the Fall session, September to December 2014.
WORK ASSIGNMENT #2: The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching: SLWK 2222.03 “Advancing Social Justice” by Distance Education. The class will be offered in the Fall session, September to December 2014.
WORK ASSIGNMENT #3: The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching: SLWK 3084.03 “Understanding Research Methods in Social Work” by Distance Education. The class will be offered in the Fall session, September to December 2014.
WORK ASSIGNMENT #4: The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching: SLWK 2111.06 “Development of Canadian Social Work” by Distance Education. The class will be offered in the Fall & Winter session, September 2014 to April 2015.
WORK ASSIGNMENT #5: The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching: SLWK 3030.06 “Theoretical Foundations of Social Work Practice” by Distance Education. The class will be offered in the Fall & Winter session, September 2014 to April 2015.
WORK ASSIGNMENT #6: The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching: SLWK 4010.06 “Advanced Social Work Practice” by Distance Education. The class will be offered in the Fall & Winter session, September 2014 to April 2015.
WORK ASSIGNMENT #7: The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching: SLWK 7001.06 “Social Work Practice Research” by Distance Education. The class will be offered in the Fall & Winter session, September 2014 to April 2015.
WORK ASSIGNMENT #8: The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching: SLWK 2334.03/2335.03 “Beginning Social Work Practice” by Distance Education. The class will be offered in the Winter session, January to June 2015.
WORK ASSIGNMENT #9: The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching: SLWK 6381.03 “Social Policy Issues & Analysis” by Distance Education. The class will be offered in the Winter session, January to April 2015.
Distance courses are taught in an online learning management system known as Blackboard for distance delivery throughout Canada. Distance courses require on-line availability for consultation with students. Responsibilities include all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including lectures, test preparation, and evaluation of tests and reports. The part-time academic should expect to be engaged in course preparations for one-two months preceding course delivery. REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Educational background in social work with extensive experience in social work (or related fields) is required. The successful incumbent is required to have solid knowledge of a variety of social work skills and the ability to impart these skills to students. A Master of Social Work degree, or higher, and previous teaching experience is preferred.

The part-time academic position is responsible for guiding a series of seminars, liaising with student field placement agencies for a series of meetings, dealing with any issues that arise within the field placement, overseeing the completion of an academic presentation, and conferring of Final Grades. The part-time academic should expect to be engaged in course preparations preceding course delivery.
