Position: Sessional Instructor

Department: School of Public Administration (Bachelor of Management Program)

Pay Rate: In accordance with the CUPE collective agreement
(1 position Winter Term: January 2015 – April 2015)

Work Assignment:

MGMT 3802 – Public Policy

The Sessional Instructor will be responsible for a half credit course in the area of Public Policy offered to undergraduate students in the Bachelor of Management program. The Instructor will be responsible for all aspects of the teaching and administration of the class and be available for two hours per week outside class times for student consultations. The candidate reports to the Director of the School.

Requirement of Position:

A Masters Degree in a related field and recent or current experience at the executive level within government departments is required. A preference will be given to candidates who hold a Ph.D. in the area of Public policy or candidates who hold a law degree. Previous university-level teaching is an asset. Demonstrated teaching effectiveness in Public policy is required.

PUAD 6500 – Business and Government

The Instructor will be responsible for all aspects of the teaching and administration of the class and be available for two hours per week outside class times for student consultations. The candidate reports to the Director of the School.

Requirement of Position:

A Masters Degree in a related field and recent or current experience at the executive level within government departments is required. A preference will be given to candidates who hold a Ph.D. in the area of Public Administration or candidates who hold a law degree. Previous university-level teaching at the Master’s level is required as is demonstrated teaching effectiveness at the Master’s level. Preference will also be given to applicants who hold or have recently held positions at the executive level within government departments.
