Probationary, Full-time (100%)
DEPARTMENT OF BIOLOGY
DALHOUSIE UNIVERSITY
Applications are invited for a full-time (100%), probationary Instructor position starting September 1, 2014. Working with class professors, the successful applicant will be responsible for the delivery, and the ongoing revision and improvement of the laboratory components of the second year core Biology class, BIOL2060 (Introductory Ecology). Maximum enrolments are typically 150 students. The Instructor is responsible for organizing the labs, supervising teaching assistants, and for class administration. Other duties will include advising undergraduate students and serving on department administrative committees as required.
Candidates should have an advanced degree in biology and previous laboratory teaching experience. Candidates must also have demonstrated teaching ability, good interpersonal skills, experience with BLS and the ability to work as a team member.
Salary will be according to qualifications and experience, as determined by the Collective Agreement between The Board of Governors of Â鶹´«Ã½ and the Â鶹´«Ã½ Faculty Association.
