Teaching Assistant Positions: History of Science and Technology Programme, University of King’s College

The History of Science and Technology Programme (HOST) at the University of King’s College invites applications for Teaching Assistant positions for its course on the history of Technology and Engineering (HSTC 1801) for the 2014-2015 academic year. This course offers a broad introductory survey to the history of technology. Taken with HSTC 1800, it fulfils the university’s writing requirement.

TA duties will include attending lectures (2 hrs/week), helping students with in-class exercises, leading tutorials (1-2 hrs/week), marking assignments and tests (2-3hrs/week), holding office hours (1-2 hrs/week), and attending teaching staff meetings (1 hr/week).
Ìý
Candidates should have at least an undergraduate degree. They should also display a strong interest in both science and the humanities. Candidates must also demonstrate a deep understanding of the English grammar and strong writing skills. Experience with ESL students will be considered an asset. Preference will be given to applicants with relevant teaching experience or education. Pay scale will match the collective agreement between Â鶹´«Ã½ and CUPE.
