The Faculty of Computer Science seeks an outstanding candidate to fill a career stream (probationary appointment) Instructor position in Computer Science.
The primary duties of this position include taking a lead role in a number of aspects of the undergraduate teaching program, which may include the development and implementation of an early intervention program for students at risk; student engagement and retention programs; teaching first, second, and third-year undergraduate courses in Computer Science (CS); development and management of undergraduate labs related to courses; teaching of service courses to other Faculties; and participating in other Faculty administration and undergraduate affairs, such as the Curriculum Committee and undergraduate student counseling. Although the instructor is not expected to conduct research, the successful candidate will have a well-defined area of interest in CS in which he or she will remain current and be able to teach senior-level courses. Candidates must possess a master’s or doctorate degree in CS or a related discipline and must have a strong interest in and commitment to ! teaching and course development. Teaching experience at the university level is not required but is preferred.

The primary duties of this position include teaching communication courses, such as Communication Skills: Oral and Written (CSCI2100), participating in the development and/or teaching of the courses Concepts of Computing (INFX 1615) and Applications of Computing (INFX1616), and taking a role in project work in the Informatics Degree Program.
Candidates must possess a master's or doctoral degree in an appropriate discipline and must have a strong interest in and commitment to teaching and course development. Previous teaching experience at the university level is not required but is preferred.
