Limited Term Position

Applications are invited for a 1 year 0.5 Limited Term Position at the Instructor level in the School of Occupational Therapy starting August 1, 2016. This is an academic position that encompasses teaching, program development, academic advising and program administration. Reporting to the Director of the School, the successful candidate will be situated at 麻豆传媒 and responsible for the undergraduate Disability Management Certificate.

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant Master鈥檚 degree or have an equivalent combination of education and experience. A PhD would be considered an asset. Previous teaching experience is essential, as is recent work experience in the field of disability management. Familiarity with curriculum development and online teaching technology are highly desirable. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Occupational Therapist/Limited Term Position

The School of Occupational Therapy at 麻豆传媒 welcomes applications from qualified persons to fill a two year limited term position at the rank of Instructor for the period July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2018. Salary is dependent upon qualifications and commensurate with the DFA Collective Agreement.

WORK ASSIGNMENT: The Instructor will be responsible for coordinating and training part-time instructors, organizing materials and personnel for each laboratory or tutorial session and acting as an instructor to groups of 10-12 students for a minimum of 4 courses. The individual will be responsible for developing materials for use in class assignments and simulated client exams. This instructor will also be responsible for developing and implementing innovative clinical fieldwork opportunities in non traditional venues and within the school. Student advising, recruitment and marketing will form part of the assigned workload. This position reports to the Director, School of Occupational Therapy.聽

QUALIFICATIONS: A master鈥檚 degree is mandatory. Either a BSc(OT) or MSc(OT) entry to practice qualification and a minimum of two years clinical experience are also mandatory. A license to practice occupational therapy in Nova Scotia is required.聽 聽Excellent communication, coordination, and organizational skills; experience with student teaching/supervision; and knowledge/familiarity with distance education technologies will be an asset.
