All instructors report to the Director of the School. Duties include, but are not limited to: Responsibility for all aspects of teaching and administering the course, including lectures, active learning class sessions, assignment preparation and evaluation; availability for two hours per week for consultation with students. Course syllabi are available upon request.
1. Work Assignment: INFO 6560 – Information Resources Management
The sessional instructor will teach the elective Information Resources Management course (INFO 6560) in the Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) program during the 2016 Fall term. The course is scheduled for one 3 hour period per week, September – December 2016.
Requirements of the Position: MLIS degree (or similar) and significant employment experience in collections management/information resources management. Prior teaching or research experience in this area (or a similar area) would be an asset.
2. Work Assignment: INFO 6800 - Archives
The sessional instructor will teach the elective Archives course (INFO 6800) in the Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) program in the 2016 Fall term. The course is scheduled for one 3 hour period per week, September – December 2016.
Requirements of the Position: MLIS degree (or similar) and significant employment experience in archives. Prior teaching or research experience in this area (or similar) would be an asset.
3. Work Assignment: INFO 6810 – Managing Information Literacy Instruction
The sessional instructor will teach the elective Managing Information Literacy Instruction course (INFO 6810) in the Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) program during the 2016 Fall term. The course is scheduled for one 3 hour period per week, September – December 2016.
Requirements of the Position: MLIS degree (or similar) and significant employment experience in information literacy. Prior teaching or research experience in this area (or a similar area) would be an asset.
4. Work Assignment: INFO 6840 – Content Management Systems
The sessional instructor will teach the elective Content Management Systems course (INFO 6840) in the Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) program during the 2016 Fall term. The course is scheduled for one 3 hour period per week, September – December 2016.
Requirements of the Position: MLIS degree (or similar) and significant employment experience in content management systems. Prior teaching or research experience in this area (or a similar area) would be an asset.
5. Work Assignment: INFO 5530 Information Sources, Services and Retrieval
The sessional instructor will teach the core Information Sources, Services and Retrieval course (INFO 5530) in the MLIS program during the 2017 Winter term. The course is scheduled for one 3 hour period per week, January – April 2017.
Requirements of the Position: MLIS degree (or similar) and significant employment experience in information sources, services and retrieval. Prior teaching or research experience in these areas (or similar areas) would be an asset.
6. Work Assignment: INFO 6320 – Legal Literature & Librarianship
The sessional instructor will teach the elective Legal Literature & Librarianship course (INFO 6320) in the Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) program during the 2017 Winter term. The course is scheduled for one 3 hour period per week, January – April 2017.
Requirements of the Position: MLIS degree (or similar) and significant employment experience in legal literature & librarianship. Prior teaching or research experience in this area (or a similar area) would be an asset.
