Could you be better equipped to address issues and provide support to faculty and staff experiencing mental health issues?
If you answered, 鈥淵es,鈥 you are not alone. This workshop will provide managers and supervisors with tools to help address mental health issues at work by raising awareness about the signs and symptoms of employee mental health issues and addressing their impact on the workplace.
According to Statistics Canada, it is estimated that nearly half of the 72 million workdays that workers are absent per year in Canada are attributed to mental disorder-related leaves.

The signs and symptoms associated with mental health issues
The roles and responsibilities for Human Resources, Leaders, Managers and others in recognizing the signs of mental illness in the workplace

Our Presenter: Michael MacDonald has over 15 years of experience in the field of Health Management. He has worked closely with employers, clinicians, and employees to support optimal health and productivity. Throughout his career, his focus has been on helping employees in a variety of settings overcome the limits of any mental health illness they may be experiencing.
He has completed studies in Adult Education and Psychology. A certified Managed Healthcare Professional, he has also been trained by Nova Scotia's Human Rights Commission as a Diversity Awareness Trainer.
