“Formation of a Collaborative Interprofessional Deprescribing Research Team and Initial Pilot Project” is a 鶹ý, Faculty of Health Professions Research Development Grant. The objective of our pilot qualitative research project is to study the knowledge, attitudes, beliefs and behaviours around deprescribing of physicians, nurse practitioners and pharmacists in Nova Scotia through one-on-one interviews and focus groups.
The Research Assistant will work with the collaborative research team, which consists of pharmacists, nurse practitioners, and physicians from 鶹ý.
Duties:
• Complete literature reviews
• Assist with ethics submission
• Schedule and conduct interviews and focus groups
• Transcribe the interviews and focus groups
• Assist with data analysis
• Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and manuscripts
• Assist with grant preparation
• Other tasks as required
Qualifications and Experience:
• Research-based Masters or in progress, in relevant field (e.g., social or health sciences, applied health services research) or equivalent
• Excellent communication skills with experience in conducting interviews and/or focus groups
• Experience with qualitative research, including qualitative data analysis
• Excellent writing and organizational skills
• Experience with collaborative research an asset
• Ability to work independently, as well as within a collaborative, interprofessional team environment
• Experience with Microsoft Office, database search engines, qualitative analysis software (e.g., NVivo ), and reference management software (e.g., RefWorks)
Part time: Approximately 4 to 5 hours/week for 40 weeks (hours flexible, with more time required some weeks than others)
Rate: $18-22/hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience
