POSITION: Sessional Instructor ENVS 3200.01
DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Environmental Science – Faculty of Science APPLICATION DEADLINE: April 13, 2017 RATE OF PAY: According to the CUPE Agreement (3 credit hours)
WORK ASSIGNMENT: The Sessional Instructor will be responsible for teaching ENVS 3200.03 ”Introduction to Environmental Law” in the Fall Term of 2017. The Instructor will be responsible for all aspects of the teaching and administration of the class, and will be available for at least two hours per week outside class times for student consultations. The Instructor reports directly to the Director of Environmental Science.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION: A law degree, and expertise in environmental law. Teaching experience at the university level is preferred.

WORK ASSIGNMENT: The Sessional Instructor will be responsible for teaching ENVS 3301.03 “Enterprise Sustainability” in the Fall Term of 2017. The Instructor will be responsible for all aspects of the teaching and administration of the class, and will be available for at least two hours per week outside class times for student consultations. The Instructor reports directly to the Director of Environmental Science.
Enterprise Sustainability is a course that teaches students about how to integrate sustainability into the corporate environment from perspectives of practical application of pollution prevention (P2). Students are taught tools for data collection, communication, analysis, and presentation to make a business case for sustainability. A real-life case study is key to the success of the course. Field trip(s) are used to provide practical experience and form the foundation for major project. The instructor is expected to offer students a practical perspective by sharing knowledge and experience through in class lectures, lead field trips, and provide mentoring on group projects.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION: A minimum of three years experience directly related to the sustainability of organizations is required. Teaching experience at the university level is preferred.
