WORK ASSIGNMENT: The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching the existing online course, SUST 1400.03, "Exploring Sustainability". This fully online course will be offered in the Summer session, May 06 to July 30 2019. Responsibilities include all aspects of teaching and administering the course, including review and updates to the Brightspace site, review of existing lecture videos, quizzes and assignment descriptions and rubrics, management of the course delivery including email communication with students and monitoring of the student discussion board, and evaluation of all assignments. The part-time academic should expect to spend some time before and after the official course dates in preparation for the course and marking assignments.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: A graduate degree in a field related to environmental history, social change and sustainability, with expertise in interdisciplinary learning and research. Minimum of three years of teaching experience and demonstrated evidence of teaching effectiveness in undergraduate fields related to writing, research, and experiential learning. Post-graduate certificate in university teaching and learning preferred. Direct experience leading community-based research and projects in environmental history, social change and sustainability. Ability to work with colleagues collaboratively and constructively. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficiency with Â鶹´«Ã½'s learning management system (Brightspace) is considered essential.
