POSITION:Ìý Part-time Academic

WORK ASSIGNMENT: The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching BIOL 3328.03, "Medical Entomology".Ìý The course will be offered in the summer session, May 13 – May 28, 2019, Monday through Saturday, approx. 0905-1655.Ìý Responsibilities include all aspects of teaching and administering the course, including lectures, field trips, test preparation, and evaluation of tests and reports.ÌýÌýThe part-time academic will also be responsible for preparing a budget in consultation with the program director, and keeping field-related expenses within the approved budget. In addition, the part-time academic may be responsible for driving students on field trips in a 7-passenger van rented by the university, and for being responsible for the class on an overnight field trip. The part-time academic should expect to spend considerable time before and after the official course dates in preparation for the course and marking assignments.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: A graduate degree in Biology or related field and research experience directly related to the topic of the course. Up-to-date Standard First Aid and CPR certification and a driver's license valid in Nova Scotia. Preference will be given to candidates possessing a Ph.D. and/or previous university teaching experience in the subject of the course.
