Part-Time Employment Opportunity: Teaching Assistant in the History of Science and Technology Program

The History of Science and Technology Program at the University of King's College invites applications for two (2) Teaching Assistant positions for the 2019 Fall term of "Introduction to the History of Science" (HSTC 1200/HSTC 2200/HIST 2074/SCIE 2000), with a possibility to extend the contract for the 2020 Winter term. For course description and class and tutorials times, see:
Duties include but not limited to:
- attending lectures (2 hrs per week) and running tutorials (1 or 2 hrs per week)
- grading assignments and exams
- Ìýassisting students as needed with their assignments.
- TAs for this course must also be prepared to consult on a regular basis with the instructors regarding the approach taken in tutorials as well as for grading
- candidates should expect to work between 5 and 20 hours a week.
Qualifications and Experience:
Candidates may come from various fields (this is a widely interdisciplinary program) but should have at least an undergraduate degree. Graduates with some background in the history of science or cognate fields are strongly encouraged to apply. Previous teaching experience will be considered an asset.
Hourly Rate of Pay: $24.41 (classification of TA130). Position is conditional on the course's final enrollment numbers
