Today, members of the global academic community are taking action against anti-Black racism and showing solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement and with broader efforts to address systemic racism. This campaign, named #ShutdownAcademia and #ShutdownSTEM, is a one-day event focused on collective action from within the higher education community.

Dal community members are involved in organizing a local march and rally today. The event begins at 10 a.m. and goes until 11:30 at the Halifax Commons. Full details can be found on Facebook:
