POSITION: 3 TA-65 Teaching Assistants and 1 TA-90 Teaching Assistant for ENVS 1200, Environmental Challenges: Analysis and Solutions
SALARY: As per CUPE Collective Agreement per term. Â
JOB DESCRIPTION:Â Teaching assistants will lead undergraduate students in online tutorial sessions (50 minutes) covering a variety of topics in introductory-level environmental science and environmental studies. In particular, there is a focus on climate, energy and urbanization. The tutorials are designed to engage students in discussion and problem solving.Â
TA-65s will be assigned to lead the 50-minute tutorial session or assist the instructor with the breakout sessions during the synchronous online tutorial. TAs will also help grade assignments and exams.Â
The 90-hour TA will act as the 'head TA' and be the main point of contact for students with respect to all tutorial and assignment-related questions and will assist with developing online tutorial content, grading major course assignments and facilitating the Brightspace discussion board.
²Ï±«´¡³¢±õ¹ó±õ°ä´¡°Õ±õ°¿±·³§/·¡³Ý±Ê·¡¸é±õ·¡±·°ä·¡:ÌýSuccessful applicants must possess a BSc, BES, or have successfully completed ENVS 1200. They must also possess a background in a field related to environmental science/studies or with undergraduate education in a field related to environmental science. TAs must be reliable, energetic, and enthusiastic about the tutorial topics, and comfortable in facilitating the learning of undergraduate students in the tutorials in an online environment.
