The Faculty of Medicine is saddened to announce the passing of Leslie Ann Lord. Born May 6, 1955, in Halifax, NS, Leslie died at home on Saturday April 30, 2022, at the age of 66, after a brief battle with cancer.
Leslie worked as the administrator for the Animal Ethics Committee at Â鶹´«Ã½ for almost 30 years before retiring in 2016.Ìý
Dogs were Leslie’s passion. She was an accomplished and gifted dog trainer from her early teens and was a central figure in the canine agility community. Other pastimes included painting and sculpture, kayaking and long dog walks with friends.
Leslie is survived by her sister, Krista Jean Shugart, nieces Rachel Shugart, Andrea Vaughan, and Sophia Shugart. She is predeceased by her parents Homer and Betty Lord and niece Danielle Shugart. She will be sorely missed by her many friends.Ìý
Please join Leslie’s family and friends for a reception to celebrate her life on Saturday May 14 between 1-3pm at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax.
