The Faculty of Management and the Department of Information Science invite applications for a limited term appointment of up to three years in the Faculty of Management at the rank of instructor commencing July 1, 2023.
The successful candidate will lead plans to develop the Major in Managing Data and Information in the Bachelor of Management program, as well as assist in the development of the Minor in Digital Citizenship. The successful candidate will also teach within these programs, and details of relevant courses can be found on the Bachelor of Management website.
Required qualifications, experience and skills:
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Master in Information, library studies, or related degree.
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Demonstrated research, teaching, or professional experience in the field of Information Science with a focus on at least one key area of social justice, geospatial information systems, accessible design, data and information management, community-led information practice, data security and privacy, and bias in information systems. Knowledge can be demonstrated via a record of publication, professional experience, and relevant community experience.
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Established record of teaching excellence, preferably at the undergraduate level.
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Demonstrated experience with online teaching and/or pedagogical methods such as experiential learning, student-centered learning, transformative pedagogies, digital pedagogy, and online dialogue.
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Ability to work collaboratively and as part of a team
Preferred qualifications, experience, and skills:
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý A PhD degree in information studies or a related field completed or in progress.
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Experience or interest in curriculum development.
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Professional information management experience will be an asset.

Assistant Professor (5-year LTA)

The Faculty of Management and the Department of Information Science invite applications for a limited term appointment of up to five years in the Faculty of Management at the rank of assistant professor commencing July 1, 2023. The successful candidate is expected to teach in the Bachelor of Management program, including in the foundational first-year and capstone courses. These teaching responsibilities require the incumbent to conduct pedagogical cultivation and insight into the Bachelor of Management degree program. The successful candidate will thus be expected to contribute to the Faculty’s stewardship of the program through their service. The workload is focused on teaching (60%) and service (30%), with a 10% time allocation for research.
Required qualifications, experience and skills:
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý A PhD degree in a field relevant to the Bachelor of Management program;
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Demonstrated teaching, research, or professional experience in areas related to core fields in the Bachelor of Management degree, such as interdisciplinary management, or strategic management;
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Demonstrated record of teaching excellence and administrative service;
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Experience teaching at the undergraduate level;
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Experience with team teaching, including the ability to take the lead in course development, delivery, and coordination of team teaching;
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Demonstrated skill with project management and curriculum development; and
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Experience with online teaching, pedagogical innovation, and experiential approaches to management education.
