The Faculty of Computer Science is seeking a candidate for a 3-year limited term instructor position at 80% to begin on July 1, 2023. This position will require the candidate to have a physical presence at Â鶹´«Ã½. Ìý
The position will primarily involve (i) teaching of CSCI 5100 Communicating Computer Science Ideas and CSCI 4193/5193 Technology Innovation, and other courses offered by the Faculty of Computer; (ii) and participating in other Faculty administration. Ìý
The successful candidate for this position must meet the following requirements:
- At least a Master’s degree.
- Experience in teaching communication courses at the university level.
- At least 10 years of industry experience in communications, journalism, or a related field.
Additional desirable qualifications are as follows:
- A history of excellence in teaching communication courses as well as academic writing at the university level, particularly to large and diverse classes.
- Ability to motivate the need for strong communication skills in the software and technology industries.
- Experience in teaching large and diverse classes with large numbers of ESL students.
- Experience or interest in technology-related fields such as computer science, engineering, history of science and technology, electronic commerce, technology innovation or related fields.
- Experience in academic administration, committee work, and student advising.
