Current Projects
Cox Institute   Â
Envelop Final Phase has begun by Jones Masonry for the final phase of brick repointing on the new Cox Building. Front Entrance by CIBC bank machine will be closed May 22-24 for work in this area. Signage will direct CIBC customers to next entrance. Entrance will re-open each night for after hours use. Project includes washing and repointing of brick.
Old Cox roof replacement to start Tuesday May 22nd. Laydown area for IC Roofing with be a rear door, limited parking available during this construction. Fume Hood operation to continue throughout project with shutdowns required when communicated. PLEASE NOTE: the current insulation on the roof is Styrofoam and during removal this will be difficult to contain, may seem like its snowing if windy. Contractor will try to contain and garbage as much and quickly as possible. Also windows will be boarded up on the back side in the shoot area.
Fume Hoods – Contracts awarded for the upgrade to fume hoods in rooms 115, 139, 139B, 141, 163, 165, 166, 201, 216, 217, 222, 227, 228, 229, 240, 242, 243, 245, 246, 255. Starting in Room 240 on May 14.
Bio Secure Lab 139 – Construction starting May 22 through to June
Fraser House
Room renovations in 40 rooms continue through to June 30th.
Campus
Sidewalk along Sipu Awti has begun Detours in place, one lane on days for pouring concrete and both ways with caution on short run work days. Expected completion date of mid June.
Upcoming Projects
Cox Institute   Â
Cox Labs 135 & 240 tender has closed and award is in approval stages. Construction to start approximately one month.
Dairy Building  Â
Roof replacement tender closed, awaiting award to contractor.
Extension Engineering
Landscape Architecture Studio tender awarded, construction to start soon. More details to come. Construction to be completed by mid August.
Jenkins
Servery final renovations to begin in June.
