John Mitton has been awarded first prize in the 2016 Journal of Military and Strategic Studies (JMSS) Annual Award of Excellence for his essay: "History, Science, and the Study of Rivalry in International Relations."

PhD candidates John Mitton, Andrea Lane, Michelle Legassicke and Susan Manning, along with MA Candidate Callee Luddington, have all been recognized with very prestigious awards, scholarships, and grants.

Contemporary Security Policy awards the Bernard Brodie Prize annually to the author(s) of an outstanding article published in the journal the previous year.
