2025‑26 Cinema and Media Studies Elective Classes

The following electives taught in 2025-2026can count toward the degree in Cinema & Media Studies. Unless otherwise indicated, they are taught at 鶹ý or the University of King’s College. Click here for instructions for .  If the FILM course code is full, you can register on the other course code (e.g., RUSN, INDG) if there is space.  

“Production credits” for the Major/Double Major/Combined Honours refer to courses that focus on hands-on/applied skills. You need at least 5 electives that are not production credits for the Major/Double Major/Combined Honours.

·      SPAN 3515: Voices and Visions: Hispanic Literature and Film (Diana Pifano) TR 13:05 – 14:25. Taught in English. Note: this is a new course and hasn’t gone through the process yet to count towards either the Major or Minor, but it will almost certainly be added to the Major at least, and hopefully both.

·      *Apprenticeships (FILM 4101 and 4103) by application due April 15. You can only register for this course after an application has been approved. Go to . May count as a production credit, depending on the nature of the apprenticeship.

·      NSCAD FHIS 2820: History of Animation Fall, Time TBD. Equivalent to Dal’s FILM 3370: Animated Film, so you can’t take both for credit.

·      NSCAD FHIS 3522: Architecture in the Filmic Imaginary Time TBA
