Breathe Easy: Clearing the Air around Acute SinusitisÌý

The program is intended to equip pharmacists with the knowledge and resources required to assess a patient presenting with symptoms of acute sinusitis and prescribe or refer as appropriate.

The Vax Facts: Protecting Against Measles, Mumps, Meningitis, and Pertussis One Shot At A Time!Ìý

In light of recent outbreaks caused by vaccine preventable illnesses that are making a comeback, it’s more important than ever for pharmacy professionals to be prepared to answer vaccine questions. This presentation will review measles, mumps, meningitis, and pertussis and boost your vaccine knowledge.

Interpreting and Managing Complex and Incidental Laboratory FindingsÌý

This session will focus on the role of pharmacists in laboratory monitoring. Interpretation and application of commonly encountered laboratory values will be discussed as it applies to primary care. Handling of abnormal and critical results and patient disposition will be reviewed.

The STREP guide: STReamlining Evaluation of sore throat by Pharmacists

The program is designed to improve pharmacists’ skills in assessing and prescribing for patients who present with pharyngitis. Pharmacists will learn to compare and contrast clinical presentation of pharyngitis caused by bacteria vs viruses, learn how to complete an assessment for lymphadenopathy and how to do a throat swab, recognize when to test patients with sore throat, recognize patients who should be referred, and prescribe for patients who test positive for group A strep pharyngitis.

PrEPared for Anything: Clinical Assessment Essentials for HIV PrEP, Chlamydia and GonorrheaÌý

The program is designed to enhance pharmacists' understanding and management of HIV, chlamydia, and gonorrhea. It focuses on the transmission, risk factors, prevention strategies, clinical presentation, and diagnostic testing for these infections. Additionally, the program covers the fundamentals of HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) prescribing, including identifying eligible candidates, initiating laboratory monitoring, managing abnormal results, and counseling patients on adherence and adverse effects. The program also addresses the appropriate testing, treatment, and follow-up for chlamydia and gonorrhea, as well as the integration of PrEP and STI management into routine care, promoting sexual health, and addressing stigma.

Empowering Pharmacy Practitioners: Contemporary Strategies to Support Students on the Journey to Entering Professional Practice​

This workshop will be of interest to practitioners who work with students or who are an active Â鶹´«Ã½ College of Pharmacy preceptor. Participants will work together toÌýconsider techniques and strategies for providing meaningful feedback and explore methods to create a positive and safe environment for patients, students, and practitioners.

Spring Refresher Pediatric Injection Training Stream:

A Pediatric Injection Training Program (PITP) Stream will be offered with limited enrollment. This workshop requires an injection permit and completion of the online competency program. As a bonus, participants will gain access to some of the Refresher's presentationsÌýand workshops for additional CEUs.
