Limited-Term Instructor Position (5 Years) – Primary Care/Community Pharmacotherapeutics

The College of Pharmacy in Â鶹´«Ã½â€™s Faculty of Health invites applications from qualified candidates for a five-year, 100% FTE, limited term position in the College of Pharmacy at the rank of Instructor.

Â鶹´«Ã½ is comprised of 6,000 faculty and staff amongst its 13 faculties. Current enrollment is over 21,000 graduate and undergraduate students. The successful candidate may coordinate therapeutics/skills/elective courses, will develop content and teach pharmacotherapeutics and related subject matter in areas common to primary care/community pharmacy which may include topics such as dermatology, respiratory diseases, gastrointestinal conditions, immunological issues, and/or other therapeutic areas, and point of care testing or home health care. Other teaching responsibilities may include delivering content within the social, behavioural, and administrative pharmacy, professional skills, and interprofessional health education streams. Collaboration with others team-teaching in these areas will be required.

The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring students fulfill specific learning outcomes. This is achieved by: developing, updating and/or delivering cases and lectures and assessing student progress with provision of both written and oral feedback. Full course development may be required in some areas assigned.

This position may also include participation in College, Faculty and University committees, continuing pharmacy education programs and other professional and administrative service activities, as required.

Applicants must possess an entry-to-practice pharmacy degree and hold a pharmacy license in one of the Maritime provinces with an in-depth understanding of scope of pharmacy practice in the Maritime province of licensure. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of exemplary pharmacy practice experience in primary care, community pharmacy, chronic disease management, or equivalent advanced training and experience. Experience teaching in pharmacy practice and/or pharmacotherapeutics is required. Experience teaching in a problem-based learning curriculum is an asset. The successful candidate must be available to teach in-person.

OSCE Assessors
