AU Student Applications

If you are applying to 鶹ý Engineering as an engineering student from an Associated University (AU), you will need to take a few extra steps to apply to the co-op program after you have applied to 鶹ý for the fall term.

To qualify for co-op, you must have your diploma in Engineering and a minimum GPA of 2.3 (C+). Even if you're not sure about joining co-op now, you must complete the Co-op Orientation Course to keep your options open.

You will receive an email from 鶹ý inviting you to apply for the co-op orientation course. We will have submitted your name to Dal's Registrar's office, so when you apply as a visitor you will be admitted.

How to apply:

  • վ:
  • Select “鶹ý Undergraduate Application” when prompted in the portal.
  • ǰBENG applications, select that you want to apply to a degree and then select Engineering from a menu.

Mechanical/Chemical/Industrial Students ONLY:

Mechanical/Chemical/Industrial Students also need to apply as a visiting student as you will be taking the Co-op Orientation Course while you are still studying at your Associated University (Mechanical/Chemical in Winter of your 2ndyear and Industrial in Summer of your 2nd𲹰).

ǰVisiting Undergrad applications, the selection will look like:

*Admission Term for Mechanical/Chemical will be January and Industrial the admission term will be May

Please note:

  • հԲٲare not required until Mayand will be sent from your Associated University to 鶹ý.
    ۴dzdo notneed to provide a letter of permission for you to take ENGI 8890.
  • Students needing to be visiting students in the Winter (Mechanical/Chemical) or Summer (Industrial) will need to submit two applications (fall application to 鶹ý and Visiting Student Application), but pay only one $70 application fee.
  • Students in Civil, Environmental and Electrical do not need to apply as a visiting student as you will take the Co-op Orientation Course once you are a 鶹ý student.
