Dr. Julie Strong (BA'93) is thrilled to announce that after twenty-five years of working on it, her first novel, The Tudor Prophecy, will be published with OC Publishing, a Halifax-based indie publisher. The story is set against the turbulent backdrop of paranoid narcissist Henry VIII's bloody English reformation. It tells of two young women, herbalists; one of whom is molested by Henry and the other is arrested for witchcraft. Hester, the elder, is beloved of a bard whose master foresees the ascension of Queen Elizabeth I. Both heroines, after suffering many tribulations find love, and towards the end of the story Hester meets Henry's younger daughter, Princess Elizabeth and they form a relationship which allows Hester a promise from Elizabeth that, during her reign, she will rule with mercy.

Strong shares that The Tudor Prophecy is a story that lends hope to our time. The world has at least two paranoid narcissists currently in power, yet there is hope that after their fall, the enlightened feminine will usher in an era of mutual respect both as regards humanity and our planet. Carol Bruneau, acclaimed Nova Scotian author, calls The Tudor Prophecy "an astonishment of riches", incorporating as it does, elements from both Strong’s Classics degree from Â鶹´«Ã½ and Medical degree from Trinity College, Dublin University in Ireland.

Strong has been a practicing physician in Nova Scotia for 44 years and is retiring at the end of 2025. Both the book and e-book are available on Amazon for pre-order. The launch will take place at Halifax Central Library on January 25, 2025, Room 301 from 2-4 p.m. Long dresses and robes are encouraged.
